Background: Primary hyperparathyroidism (pHPT) is an important endocrinologic cause of metabolic bone disorder in human. The regulatory mechanism of the cells of parathyroid gland proliferation is not exactly known. Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ (PPARγ) is a member of nuclear receptor superfamily.
